The Best of 2015 {family favorites}
Happy New Year’s Eve! Can you believe it? Every year seems to go faster than the last, but this year SERIOUSLY was gone in the blink of an eye. For us it has been a whirlwind of travel and the BIG MOVE. Our emotions have been all over the map with our repatriation but we are so thankful for another year full of love and life and travel and food.
Just for fun I interviewed my family to find out what some of their favorites from this year were…
Chris:
Trip: Easter in Sicily
Meal: Breakfasts in Istanbul
Thing you did or saw: Fado in Lisbon, The Mosaics in Ravenna
High/Low: High-Visiting Mount Etna Low: Getting the car stuck in a narrow pedestrian street in Modica, (so thankful we bought the extra insurance!)
Heather:
Trip: Easter in Sicily
Meal: My favorite risotto at Borgo Vione in Basiglio, Everything I ate in Modica and Ortygia (Sicily)
Thing you did or saw: There are too many. But if I had to narrow it down- I’d say The Palio in Siena was spectacular. And the Easter procession in Modica.
High/Low: High-Spending the week of my birthday at the Palio in Siena. Low: Being sick in Umbria, Moving home.
Abby:
Trip: Venice, Istanbul
Meal: Hungarian Goulash in Salzburg
Thing you did or saw: Fado in Lisbon, Opera in Verona
High/Low: High -Searching for old books everywhere we traveled Low: Traveling in the heat
Ben:

Thing you did or saw: The Palio in Siena
High/Low: High- Collecting swords and books everywhere we traveled Low: Saying goodbye to friends in Italy
All of us are missing Italy- and we’re treasuring each trip we took in 2015.
It’s been a great year, and we have made so many friends and memories along the way. I look back at these photos and I can’t even wrap my mind around everything that we saw and tasted. There hasn’t been much time to write about all of it, so that is one of my resolutions for the New Year.
Happy New Year Friends! Thanks so much for being here. Cheers to 2016 and the delicious adventures that lie ahead!
xx- Heather
